Volunteers at di Rosa lead public tours, assist at our admissions desk, provide occasional office support, and help out at programs and events. Volunteers enjoy many benefits, including experiences that can only happen behind the scenes at di Rosa.

Gallery Teacher Training Program

Apply by September 6, 2024.

Gallery Teachers lead engaging and conversational tours for school children from pre-K to high school. As a Gallery Teacher, you will guide school visits during the school year, helping students connect with art and supporting their classroom learning objectives through arts integration. Training includes pedagogical strategies for engaging with art as well as group management skills. di Rosa school visits focus on dialog and interaction while also providing information and insights about artworks on display.

Our next training program will take place Tuesdays, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., September 17 – October 29.

Trainings will cover a range of topics, including art and di Rosa history, teaching strategies, gallery activities, and group management. Applicants must commit to all training sessions. 

Applicants must be comfortable around groups of students and with public speaking. Weekday availability is required. Gallery teachers lead a minimum of one school visit a month and are expected to stay up to date with exhibitions through ongoing training sessions. Volunteers are expected to commit to two years of service once they are fully onboarded.

 

Public Tour Docent Training Program

Docents provide tours to the general public. Public tours include insights into di Rosa’s current special exhibitions as well as the permanent collection. Public tours incorporate both the artwork on view in the galleries as well as outdoor sculptures throughout the property.

Applicants must be comfortable with public speaking and engaging with groups of people. Weekend availability is required. Docents lead a minimum of two tours a months and are expected to stay up to date with exhibitions through ongoing training sessions. Volunteers are expected to commit to two years of service once they are fully on boarded.

 

 

Art + Nature Hike Guides

We’re looking for a few enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers passionate about art and the outdoors to serve as guides for our monthly Art + Nature Hikes. Hike guides lead visitors on nature trails through our grounds, including on our quarterly hikes to Milliken Peak, creating unforgettable experiences for our guests.

Internships + Fellowships

At di Rosa, we recognize that the best way to learn is by doing. That is why we offer a variety of meaningful paid and unpaid pre-professional opportunities for students to experience the inner workings of an art organization.
